The Myth of Cassandra – a daughter of Priam endowed with the gift of prophecy but fated never to be believed ; one that predicts misfortune or disaster
Oh. Oh. This is… really spot on, actually.
Cassandra predicted the fall of Troy, but no one believed her. She was called insane. She took is upon herself to try to save the city, but was stopped by the people of Troy and her attempt was foiled. And thus, the future she saw came true and Troy was destroyed.
Tony predicted an attack on Earth after the Battle of New York, something bigger than Loki. He saw it coming. No one talked about it or truly believed him, thinking his fear was paranoia and ptsd. He tried to keep the Avengers together with the Accords, but was instead rewarded with a civil war. His attempts to prepare for Thanos all went wrong and were foiled, and no one was ready for the attack. Thanos won.
Tony really might as well be the Cassandra of the MCU.
Being motivated to write your wip’s climax by knowing the song that would play in the end credits if it were a movie:
This is actually something that’s getting me through the climax of Governed By The Stars, imagining the score or soundtrack for action scenes and the conclusion.
I’ve been listening my playlist to help keep that mood. 🎧
One of the first things I do when plotting my WIPs is come up with a soundtrack. I quite literally imagine what my stories would be like if they were movies, I craft the music, and then I listen to the playlist for that story when I write it.
I have it all laid out from opening sequence to rolling credits. I even have a journal specifically for labeling what is happening during which song on a playlist.
